People for Cats: Meet Misha

Misha was a stray in Mashpee who was lucky enough to have a kind person feed her until she eventually came to us. She is still quite thin but has relaxed in a suite at the shelter and is ready for a real home. We  think this long, slender tortoiseshell girl is 6 – 8 years old. Quiet and friendly, Misha is ready to put her days of fending for herself behind her and eager to share her company from now on with someone in a calm home. We think Misha would prefer to be the only pet, but her only other requirements for a happy life would be a sunny window for naps, a reliable source of food, and someone to give her the affection she missed out on these last few months.

Our shelter is located at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. Visit Misha and our other cats on Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call our hotline for an appointment.

Photo of the Week: Long Beach Centerville

Photo credit to Elaine Johnson. This was a photo taken at Long Beach in Centerville and then rendered in Photoshop and given a Watercolor filter. Kudos to the photographer for an interesting and alternative view through the lens, of some of our beautiful beaches!  Elaine Johnson has been designing residential landscapes on Cape Cod and the South Shore for over 20 years. She has a very strong background in creative design and project management for all phases of construction and installation. With an extensive knowledge of plant material suited to local growing conditions, she designs landscapes that have lasting beauty and integrity.

People for Cats: Meet Dottie!

This petite, one year old, gray tuxedo is Dottie. In spite of having been abandoned in Pocasset, she is a friendly, curious, and playful girl. Dottie gently touches our faces with her paw and affectionately butts her forehead against us. We think this happy girl would prefer to be the only cat in a household, but she might be okay with a dog and should be fine with children. A forever home of her own is our wish for Dottie.

Adoption hours at our shelter our Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by appointment. The shelter address is 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket.

People for Cats: Shadow

Meet Shadow, a friendly tortoiseshell cat who is about 7 years old. She came to us because she was unhappy living in a household with very young children. She has been declawed, so she must be adopted as an indoor cat. We recommend that all cats be kept inside but it is especially important with a declawed cat that has no way of defending itself.

Shadow has adjusted to shelter life now and, although she would prefer to be the only pet, might live comfortably with a mellow cat. She still waits for us to come to her but once we stroke and pet her, she is friendly and appreciative of the attention. Shadow would like a calm home without the bustle of toddler aged children, but should fit in well with almost any other type of family.

Our shelter is located down Beagle Lane in Teaticket, at number 44. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or by appointment.

People for Cats: Razz

We are looking for someone special to adopt our Razz. He is a healthy, nine year old brown tabby with distinctive round, yellow eyes. When Razz first came to us more than a year ago, he was painfully shy and withdrawn. After having spent many months in a loving foster home, Razz has become a different cat. Although he waits to be approached, Razz is super affectionate, rolling over and purring loudly to enjoy receiving any attention. Recently he again spent a month in someone’s home, where he was most happy being a lap cat or curling up on the bed during the night. Now Razz is ready to find his forever home in a quiet setting where he can devote all his affection to his own special person.

Our shelter is located at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call our hotline for an appointment.

People For Cats

Brooke is a 7 month old tuxedo boy who has already been neutered and had all his shots. He is shy with strangers but once he gets to know someone Brooke is a snuggler. His main interest at this stage of his life is play, play, play! Curious about everything around him, Brooke will happily investigate his surroundings and play enthusiastically with cat toys. Having another playful cat with whom to share the fun is an added bonus for Brooke. This young cat needs a home where he can develop a bond with someone and where his lively personality will be appreciated. Brooke would prefer there be no very young children but a family with older children and another friendly cat would be perfect.

Visit our shelter at 44 Beagle Lane in Teaticket. Adoption hours are Wednesdays from 4 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., or call our hotline for an appointment.
