It may mean painting, cleaning out garages for that sale, power washing the deck, cleaning windows and putting in screens, retrieving outdoor furniture from its winter storage location and the list goes on and on. Memorial Day is on the horizon and many of us anticipate the arrival of guests and planning for those festive cookouts. (more…)

CapeK9Cardio Presents Their 3rd Annual K-9 5K Trail Run/1 Mile Walk on July 1st 2012 to Benefit the Mashpee Dog Park

CapeK9Cardio began its pet sitting/dog walking business after Owner, Jason Michaud, noticed an improvement in the disposition of his Jack Russell Terrier after taking him on runs. Since then the business has grown to include a K-9 5K Trail Run or 1 Mile Walk to raise money for local dogs while emphasizing the importance of exercise for dogs. This year the 3rd annual event will be held on July 1st to support the ground breaking of the Mashpee Dog Park. Their mission is to promote responsible dog ownership and safe, legal off-leash recreation for dogs living in Mashpee and the surrounding areas.

CapeK9Cardio takes pride in providing the best possible pet care for Upper Cape Cod pet owners. They are a Bonded and Insured Cape Cod Pet Care Company covering Falmouth, Mashpee and most of Bourne MA. Their exceptional pet care begins with your free consultation where they will meet you and all of your pets in your home to ensure their care meets all of your expectations.

This year’s K-9 5K will feature pet friendly vendors, drawings and raffles for prizes and a special appearance.

Join New York Times Bestselling author of the Chet & Bernie Mystery Series, Spencer Quinn, for an exciting appearance and book signing at the 3rd Annual CapeK9Cardio K-9 5K. There will be a raffle for a signed set of Chet The Dog books. Thanksgiving Spa Day Contest!

It’s the time of year for Thanksgiving…both the holiday and also giving thanks and taking stock of what and for whom we are grateful. It is in this spirit of Thanksgiving that we decided to run our first Cape Cod Happening Contest!

We are partnering with Painted Red Nails, a beautiful organic skin and nail spa located in Mashpee. The winner will receive the following services:

♦ A 40-minute Swedish Massage and an express facial with an organic home skin care kit and skin care consultation.

Sounds amazing right? Here’s how to enter:

Is there someone who has made a difference in your life to whom you would like to say thank you? Is there someone who you believe deserves a Spa Day; perhaps someone who has worked hard giving to others or who themselves has had a challenging year? This is a gender neutral contest and gender neutral ‘prize’, so nominations certainly can be for either a man or a woman! (more…)

Cape Cod Happening This Weekend

The weekend is here and a special one at that, with today being Veteran’s Day. Let’s remember and celebrate in our own way to say thank you to all who have served and fought for the freedoms we have to enjoy these weekend events!

There is a mix of happenings this weekend around the Cape, from holiday festivals to live music and kids events. The weather may be more typical of New England November days, yet there is plenty to do to stay active! Here are just a few of our favorite picks for this weekend.

On Friday the 11th The Cape Cod Children’s Museum is holding their annual Veteran’s Day Fall Festival from 10:30am-2:00pm. There will be various games, activities and arts and crafts for the whole family. There will also be vendors situated throughout for some early holiday shopping! (more…)

A Bountiful Feast

Can you imagine that the 2011 holiday season is almost upon us? Already there are intermittent and beautiful autumn displays of colorful turkeys and cornucopia in shops around town. We do love Thanksgiving and all of the traditions and sharing of food, but for some, the holidays present many challenges not the least of which is being able to provide food for their families. The holidays I would imagine only magnify the stress for those who are currently struggling financially. (more…)

A Walk With Angels

If you are seeking creative ideas, go out walking. Angels whisper to a man when he goes for a walk. ~Raymond Inmon

The dreaded, but expected, writers block gripped like a vice around my head. So I walked, with my dog, studying his rhythmic and tidy little gallop as he scanned the area like a night watchman. I live in a neighborhood where pride is reflected in the well kept row of houses that line the street. It’s my ‘big loop’ walk that is both peaceful and invigorating at the same time. The streets are quiet but for the occasional car driving by and yet I can feel the houses looking back at me as I stroll past. We become where we live, and these houses can tell some wonderful stories! A beautiful evening walk with Willie and that familiar feeling of freedom helps to clear the senses. I realize that everything truly appears so interconnected, as I come home to find this quote I reference above on my computer … and voila, a lovely idea is born for beginning this new journey! Angels? Perhaps; but why not take a walk and decide for yourself. (more…)
